Our signature activity to bring joy to adults at the holiday time is the JoyCatchers Tree Trim begun in 2006. Each person decorates a tree to be given to someone less fortunate.
In 2020 when people could not gather due to Covid, Individual Tree Kits were created and given to individuals so they could make their own trees.
Both activities are now part of the JoyCatchers mission. Many of these Tree Trim activities repeat every year.
JoyCatchers Annual Tree Trim Since 2006, friends, families, co-workers gather to decorate trees, selecting from hundreds of decorations paid for with monetary donations and contributions from caring individuals. Assembling to create Individual Mini Tree Decoration Kits was added as an annual activity in 2020.
Saatchi & Saatchi Company hosts a three-day tree trim event, including a family night.
Cancer Support Community Los Angeles program participants decorate trees for themselves or others in need of care and support.
Cancer Support Community Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbara participants impacted by cancer decorate trees in a group setting.
Family and Friends continue their tradition of trimming trees and doing good for others.
Girls PACT teenagers and young adults decorate trees to give back to those less fortunate.
New Directions for Veterans brings Tree Trims and Individual Tree Kits to formerly homeless and currently housed veterans for an evening of camaraderie and re-discovering their lost holiday joy.
P.E.O. Chapter MP philanthropic women decorate trees for seniors ill, alone or in assisted living.
WISE Adult Day Service Center seniors with dementia and Alzheimer’s create their own trees, often recalling holiday memories of years past.
